Sasha Paskal emerged from the sand-strewn streets of Venice, CA, a child of visionaries who saw the world through the lens of photography. As a boy, he roamed the Venice boardwalk with his mother, capturing the absurd in stark black and white film. His skateboarding adventures introduced him to the digital age, and he soon picked up a Canon GL1, turning his lens on friends and the world of skateboarding.
He gained his first commission to photograph the virtuoso guitarist Bryan Baker for the Improper Bostonian in 2010 and from that point forward Sasha took on low-budget video projects, producing them with a partner under a boutique production house while honing his style of elevating reality through simplicity.
Sasha has since shot feature films, TV series, commercials, music videos, branded content, and documentaries - some of which have garnered international distribution, festival awards, as well as hundreds of millions of views, including a  #1 trending music video on YouTube. Sasha has shot videos with Grammy award winners Miley Cyrus, Diplo, Gladys Knight, Wiz Khalifa as well as noteable acts like Mystery Skulls, Something Corporate, Bad Bhabie, Sevyn Streeter, KYLE, Kehlani and Jutes to name a few. Sasha's tour credits include the 2019 Muse Simulation Theory world tour where he operated as the tour photographer and videographer. Footage captured during rehearsals was used to create an interstitial in that was utilized during the show. Additionally, the strategy and content generated on that tour created a 900% engagement spike over the previous tour.
With each project, Sasha sees the potential to create a unique and dynamic world, one where the rules of light, color, and exposure are determined not by preconceived notions but by the needs of the story. Sasha sees the visual language a living, breathing entity, and works to give each project its own distinct voice, its own soul.
To Sasha, every shot is an opportunity to bend reality and create something new, something that transcends the ordinary and touches the soul.
With over 15 years of professional experience on a wide range of budgets and timeframes, Sasha works closely with the artist's, their teams, the directors and production designers to determine the project's needs to ensure the image meets the client's expectations while maintaining a progressive image making mentality - this is the foundation of his workflow and the driving force behind his successes.
